The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are across the continent. This Gray-crowned Rosy-finch, in a flock of 40, was feeding in a gravel pit north of Enterprise, Oregon. This species breeds in the extreme northwest, from Oregon north to Alaska.
