The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are across the continent. Lapland Longspur

One of the more unexpected yard birds for the GBBC were the two Lapland Longspurs that turned up with a flock of Horned Larks in Gary Lefko's yard in Colorado. Here is one individual of this Arctic breeder.
