The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are across the continent. Another unusual sighting, this time from Virginia. This Ash-throated Flycatcher was first observed in the Richmond, VA area on January 7, 2006 and as of February 24, 2006 was still here actively hunting for insects.
