Found on the GBBC

Barry and Jennifer Horton were out driving around doing a bird count near their home when they found this great bird.  See photos here.  You never know what you are going to find in your own neighborhood until you look.  So go out and look!

They're everywhere!

It's funny because when we weren't actually doing the count but were on our way to church this morning, we saw a bald eagle, a golden eagle, a pair of sand hill cranes, a tri-colored heron...the list goes on. The hyper-vigilance during the count allows you to spot more birds all of the time. CAG

WOW

See my comment added to the second picture. This bird would appear to be a Clark's Grebe and not a Western G. Tom Hinnebusch, West Los Angeles, CA.

have been seeing a few turkey voltures over the last two weeks and on sat. around 2 pm, one flew just over head. watching it for a bit it landed in a tall dicuous tree. there were 8 of them total when one of them would fly or soar its wing span had to be 5 or more feet. what a treat to see in the city.
